(AP Photo/Elaine Thompson) (AP)The NFL announced Sunday that Peyton Manning, who underwent season-opening shoulder surgery, will not play in Denver’s Week 17 game against Pittsburgh because of a fractured collarbone.
The Broncos’ season ended Sunday with a 21-10 loss to the Seattle Sounders.
Manning, the reigning MVP, suffered a collarbone injury in the second quarter of the team’s game against Houston.
He has not practiced since.
The injury has been a lingering concern since Manning returned to practice in mid-September, after suffering a season-threatening injury in Denver in the fourth preseason game.
He returned in time for the Broncos’ game against Kansas City on Sept. 25, but missed that game with a knee injury.
