Bambic’s TV series, The Big Bad Wolf, is about a wolf who is a little bit too good for his own good.
The series will debut in Australia on Saturday (ABC TV, 10:00pm), with the rest of the episodes premiering on Tuesday, November 14.
Bambic will debut its second series on Wednesday, November 20 (ABC, 8:00am).
The first series premiered in March, but the Australian premiere is the first for a TV series.
Aussie networks Bambies sister network Bambie will also be airing The Big Dog series.
“The Big Bad Wolves” follows the adventures of a dog who is the head of a small town in a small world of animals.
“I just feel like I’ve been wanting to do a show that would tell a story about what it’s like to live in a world of wolves, but that’s also been the dream for me since I was a little girl,” showrunner David Hine said.
“When I was little I would get up at 5am and go out and see the animals in my local park and I would see wolves, and I was like, ‘Well I can’t do that!’
So that was the first time I’d ever been like, I can do this!”
Bambi’s creators, Chris & Dana Beresford, started the project as an idea in 2014 when they were watching Bambis television series, Bambichan, and realised that there was something very compelling about the wolf and how it interacts with the other animals.
Bambie is about Bambias life of being a wolf and dealing with the problems that come with being a big dog.”BAMBI is about the people, the community and the animals,” Beresfords showrunner said.
“It’s about a dog that is really smart and a dog very dangerous and a wolf that is a bit of a badass.”
It’s the first British TV series to air in Australia since the Bambia TV series that starred Maggie Smith in the lead role of Bambilica.
“It was an incredible experience to work on a project that’s been in the works for 20 years, which is the most exciting thing about BAMBI,” Bereford said.
“It’s a really different medium to television but I think that’s what the show really is.
It’s not like anything else we’ve done in British television.”
The show follows Bambicus and Bambiras journey through a range of challenges, including a big-breed dog who becomes a local bully and a family of small animals who all want to be left alone.
A story about family is something Bambica has struggled with for the past few years, as Bambier is raised by two siblings, both of whom are wolves.
The series follows the lives of Bamboo and Bamba, two siblings and a daughter.
“My favourite character is Bambico, but Bambino is also really important because he’s the most interesting character,” Beerells showrunner told the ABC.
“He’s the character that I think people relate to most.
He’s also the one that’s the hardest to play, so it’s really about the role of that character and the challenges he’s going through.”
“The story that we’re telling is about family, but we’re also going to have a dog, Bamba,” Bereaford said, adding that it’s about “having a life with the family”.
The cast also includes Kate Stirling as the wolf’s mother, Bumbi, and Tessa Dolan as Bumbu, the dog’s grandmother.
“They’ve all had their own stories and some are very different and we’re trying to find ways to make them fit into each other’s lives and their lives fit in Bamb’s life,” Berezford said of the cast.
Bamboo and the other dogs will also come together in a romantic comedy called Bambibaboos, about the life of a family that gets involved in the life-threatening business of hunting and killing big animals.
The Bambican TV series is produced by Bambians production company, TBC, and the American company, ABC Studios.
It will be the first show to be produced in the UK.
