Divorce dramas, TV shows and movies set in Australian can be very confusing, but with a little bit of work you can see a lot of fun, and even some great moments.
Read on for a few of the best ones.
Divorce TV series A couple of Divorce TV shows have already been released: the first, The Divorce, was the most successful TV series of 2016 and has become an instant cult favourite, and it’s a great reminder that while it might not be the most glamorous of situations, divorce is still a pretty exciting and fascinating topic.
A few Divorce shows have been released to cinemas, and now a second series, The Last Divorce (with Nick and Fiona, from The Divarice Trilogy), has been made available on DVD and Blu-ray.
Another Divorce series, The Divorce of the Two Divas, is currently in production, and while it’s not quite as high-concept as the first series, it does have its fair share of good moments and some great characters.
A new series, Divorce: The Musical, has been in production for the last few years, and the second half of it has been released in a single DVD set, with the first half released in 2016.
The cast includes Nick Frost as the lead, who has become a huge hit with audiences in the UK and the US, and Fiona O’Toole as the matriarch, and she is joined by John Leeson as the new matriarchs’ daughter, and Julianne Moore as the eldest.
There are also a couple of other shows which are set in a fictional Australian town, which we’ll get into later.
The last one is called Divorced: The Real Story, and features some pretty impressive cast members.
Fiona O ‘Toole is the new leader of the town, whilst John Leesons wife Julie has been married for some time.
This is set in the same town as the real-life drama, The Burden of the Bachelors, which focuses on a woman and her family in a New South Wales suburb.
Also, while it is set outside the New South Welsh community, it’s set in Melbourne, Australia, and is set to air on ABC3, the ABC’s flagship channel.
More Divorce films and TV shows are also set in Brisbane, and Brisbane is a good choice for most Australian Divorce fans, as it has a large and growing number of Divorced families, including a large number of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families.
Fiona O’Reilly as the woman who marries the man who is to marry the woman in this drama, Divour is set between 1997 and 2000, and has a cast of a lot more than just the two women involved in it.
It has been the most popular Divorce film of all time, and although the film is based on a real-world story, it has also received a lot of criticism.
In 2016, the film was nominated for the Oscar for best documentary, and also got a lot positive attention from the Australian media.
In 2018, Divour was nominated again, and received another nomination, this time for best TV drama, and a lot praise for its portrayal of Aboriginal women.
For some reason, the films of the series were filmed in New Zealand, and they are being released by the Auckland Film Festival.
