Legion TV’s Legion TV has announced that the first season of its “War” series, a new drama about the American Civil War, will debut online on February 1.
The show, which is set in the early 1900s, follows the lives of a group of veterans from various military units who have taken up arms to help their comrades.
The series stars Kevin Bacon, Lili Reinhart, J.K. Simmons, and Emily Blunt.
“War is an incredibly important and complex time in American history and it’s the kind of thing that brings people together, bringing people together and getting them back together,” Legion TV president Joe D’Amico told THR.
“We’ve seen in the past what happens when we let that happen, when we forget who we are, when it’s too late, and when we’re too broken.
The ‘War is the last gasp of humanity’ and we wanted to create a show that brought those things together and allowed us to bring people together again.”
The first season premiered on Legion TV on February 8.
“There are a lot of parallels to the Civil War and what we’re doing with Legion,” D’ Amico said.
“But we’re not going to do it in the ’60s and ’70s and have it feel like a TV show about the Civil Wars.
We want to create something that’s not just a historical artifact, but a way to bring these things together again, as well.”
“War Is the Last Grasp of Humanity” follows the adventures of four veterans, including the former President Jefferson Davis, who joins forces with his younger sister, Helen (Simmons), to fight against the Confederate generals and their loyalist allies.
After a disastrous skirmish in New Orleans, the pair must battle to save the city.
“I feel like the war that’s in the books was just a distraction from what was really going on,” Dampier told THR in February.
“When the people came out to fight, they had a reason for their actions, and there was a plan that was being put into place.
There’s nothing wrong with the Civil Rights Act of 1964, but the Civil Army and the Civilian Conservation Corps were fighting the war.
Now that war is in the public eye and we’re fighting it in front of the world.
The war is the war and the war is over.”
Legion TV is producing the series with Universal Television.
Dampir said he hopes the series will “bring people together.”
“It’s really interesting that it’s such a big deal and it takes place in a time when people have forgotten about what they fought for, the sacrifices they made,” he said.
Legion TV will begin streaming Legion TV shows, including “War,” on February 6.
Legion also announced plans for a new web series, “Warriors” starring J.D. Robb, titled “The War is the Last Gesture of Humanity.”
The series, which premieres on Legion’s digital channel on February 17, is set at the same time as the Legion TV new series.
“It will be a very visceral show about how war is fought, and how people get back together, and the legacy of the Civil war,” Dampinger said.
In addition to the “War and Warriors” web series and new Legion TV show, the streaming service will debut “Legion TV: The War Is the War,” a new feature-length documentary that delves into the American War in Vietnam and the U.S. military.
